Tumbler Ridge - a picturesque, quaint town in northern B.C., nestled in the shadows of the majestic Rocky Mountains, home to wildlife such as deer, moose, elk, black bears, grizzlies and about a gazillion mosquitoes!! When my boyfriend suggested we celebrate the completion of our university courses with a relaxing get-away to the outskirts of Tumbler Ridge, I excitedly packed up everything necessary for roughing it in the woods for a week. We quickly set up our riverside campsite thinking we had not forgotten a thing needed to enjoy our week of solitude. As the sun began to set and we sat down around our crackling camp fire, we noticed a peculiar, dark, ominous cloud off in the distance looming towards us. We must have appeared quite a sight as we both jumped up doing the "mosquito dance" - arms flapping and flailing about! After dousing our fire, we abandoned our campsite and headed into town to purchase insect reppelant which the store clerk recommended and claimed to be "the best". It was MUSKOL which we applied liberally and then reluctantly returned to the area where we were previously the main course for the blood thirsty pests. To our amazement, the effectiveness of MUSKOL was incredible as the mosquitoes seemed completely oblivious to our presence! My boyfriend and I were so impressed , we now never venture into the great outdoors without a can close at hand. Thanks MUSKOL for saving the trip !!
